This year marks 5 years of Camp Coconuts providing childcare full time!
In 2019, we made the exciting decision to expand Camp Coconuts’ Out of School & Holiday Care, taking over the entire building where Coconuts Play Centre previously operated. This allowed us to offer care all-day, every-day for children aged 3 to 11, during the school holidays and term time, and begin providing wraparound transport to local schools.
Moving from our cozy space upstairs to occupying the whole building was a big change, but it’s been incredible to see Camp Coconuts develop it into a safe, thoughtfully developed environment where children can play, learn, and have fun.
In the last 5 years, we’ve made big changes to the garden to provide a secure, exciting outdoor space for exploring, and in 2023 we even built a room within the main hall to care for children in a smaller space allow the children and team to have their own areas and resources that they can take ownership of and add to or change up as suits them. We even kept the play frame and enjoy all-weather climbing, sliding, spinning fun from time to time.
To commemorate this milestone, we invited our families to celebrate with us at our Birthday party in September! The morning brought lots of fun games and activities, fun in the play frame, and cake! See more about our celebrations on our Facebook or Instagram.
We’re incredibly grateful to all the families who have been with us on this journey, and we’re excited to keep providing the flexible care that makes life a little easier for the parents and a lot of fun for the children! We look forward to many more years of adventures.
